Thanking the people who attended the YSR Congress Party president Jaganmohan Reddy's 48 hours Raythu Deeksha at Nallapadu, YSR Congress Party district in-charge L Appireddy on Thursday stated that the Deeksha was aimed to highlight farmers problems, particularly in Guntur and Krishna district, which were battered due to unseasonal rains.
Talking to media persons, Mr Appiraju stated the Deeksha has highlighted government's total failure in addressing farmers' woes and negligent attitude of government towards their problems.
He questioned the state government for its failure in supplying 9 hours power to farmers, despite former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy having first signed the file after assuming charge for the second time.
Lashing out the state government for its failure in rescheduling of bank loans and waiving of interest, Mr Appiraju said the government did not even taken any steps providing relief to farmers even after six months.
He alleged the government totally failed in announcing minimum support price for paddy and failed to lift discolored grains. Even it has not taken any steps when some agents were selling Bt seeds in black market, the YSR Congress Party leader stated.
Though the government promised to provide various welfare scheme and benefits during the Racha Banda, so far the benefits have not reached the targeted sections, Mr Appiraju alleged.
In the ongoing Rythu Chaitanya Yatras, only officials are participating and the elected representatives are avoiding the yatras fearing public wrath, he pointed out. YSR Congress youth leader C Rangareddy, Jagansena state chief P Sreenu and other leaders were present in the meeting.
