Those who have been observing Andhra Pradesh politics for the last three decades are well aware of the term – August Crisis. It is applicable to the Telugu Desam Party, which had faced severe crisis in this month several times in the past.
Now, a similar August Crisis is staring at the Congress party in the state, according to former minister and fire brand MLA from Parkal Konda Surekha. Reacting to the reports that she is likely to get disqualified from the assembly membership any time, Surekha said the days of the Congress party would be numbered, if there was any such move. “The Kiran Kumar Reddy government is going to face a severe crisis in the month of August. The Congress party is going to get vacated soon after the by-elections,” she said.
Surekha said in fact, the Congress party had disqualified itself from ruling the state on the day when it got the Praja Rajyam Party merged with it. “It has no moral right to disqualify me. Irrespective of the decision, I will go only with Y S Jaganmohan Reddy,” she declared.
