That the YSR Congress party is getting ready to pull the rug from under the feet of the Congress government in the state soon after the Kadapa by-elections was evident from the statement of former minister and rebel Congress MLA Konda Surekha.
She declared on Tuesday that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government would not survive till the next general elections in 2014, though YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had promised in the past not to pull down the government.
“But in view of the changed circumstances and the provocative attitude of the Congress party, it is now clear that the government would be plunged into crisis after the by-elections to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly seats,” she said.
Surekha announced that the Congress MLAs supporting Jagan would decide their future course of action after the by-election results.
“In fact, the Congress leaders themselves are worried about the election results. They are going to decide the destiny of the state politics,” she said.
