Health minister and Congress candidate for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat D L Ravindra Reddy on Saturday admitted, albeit indirectly, that he would lose the by-elections.
Speaking to the media at Kadapa, DLR challenged that he would write all his properties in the name of Jagan, if the latter gets a majority of more than two lakh votes. Similar challenge was thrown by DLR’s follower and Kamalapuram MLA G Veerasiva Reddy. “We will donate all our properties to Jagan, if he gets a majority of more than two lakh votes,” the Congress leaders said.
Interestingly, neither DLR nor Veerasiva Reddy claimed that the Congress would win the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat. The fact that they were throwing challenge on the margin of victory of Jagan itself shows that they have no confidence on DLR’s victory. Does it not send a wrong signal to the people and party cadres?
