Disciplinary action against Congress MLAs loyal to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSR Congress is likely to be delayed further as the state leadership intends to wait till a decision by the Secretariat is taken on the disqualification petitions pending against K Surekha (Parakal), G Srikanth Reddy (Rayachoti), C Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu) and A Amarnath Reddy (Rajampet).
Deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar, who had permitted the Legislature Secretariat to serve notices on the four rebel Congress MLAs to respond to the disqualification petitions filed against them by the Congress Legislature Party for their 'anti-party activities', prefers to first clear the old case (disqualification petition) pending against TDP rebel MLA N Prasanna Kumar Reddy (Kovur) before taking up other disqualification petitions submitted by the TDP against rebel MLA Y Balanagi Reddy (Mantralayam) and PRP against Bhuma Shobha Nagi Reddy (Allagadda).
The PRP has withdrawn its petition filed against Katasani Rami Reddy (Banaganapalle) as the latter had switched his loyalty to PRP.
Talking to newsmen at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, PCC president D Srinivas said he was waiting for the Speaker's decision on the disqualification petitions pending against the four rebel Congress MLAs.
'It will be premature if the PCC takes a decision on the show-cause notices served on the four rebels since the latter being legislators of the state Assembly. If we suspend them now then it will create complications. We are waiting for a decision of the Speaker. Or else, I will refer the issue to the Congress high command to take necessary action,' he added.
