Within minutes of the counting of votes for by-elections to Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and Pulivendula assembly seat began, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy made his intentions very clear: that he will soon set in motion the process to pull down the Congress government led by N Kiran Kumar Reddy in the state.
“People strongly desire that the present government will collapse very soon, as it has miserably failed to fulfill their aspirations,” Jagan told the media at the YSR Samadhi at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.
He came to the YSR estate early in the morning to pay homage to his late father on the occasion of counting of votes.
At the same time, Jagan said his party would play the role of constructive opposition in the assembly, as there is absolutely no opposition in the House. “Both the Congress and the TDP have resorted to match-fixing and forgotten the people’s issues. We are going to be an effective opposition,” he said, hinting that he is going to split a big chunk of MLAs from the Congress party and emerge as a separate group.
“I pray God to give me enough strength to take the state in the path of progress and bless me with a bright future,” Jagan said.
