The YSR Congress leader and Parakal MLA, Ms Konda Surekha, warned that if the government neglect the farmers’ problems, it will not last long. Addressing the media at Nallapadu where MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, started a fast seeking remunerative price for paddy, she said, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, has not taken up the rythu deeksha to prove his strength. He has already proved his strength in the Kadapa byelections by winning with a record margin. She said Mr Jagan is conducting the rythu deeksha to express solidarity with the farmers.
Ms Surekha reminded that the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, was saying that the Congress high command offered berth in the cabinet to Mr Jagan but he rejected it. She said the party high command is damaging the self-respect of the Telugus. She also said that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy is saying that posts will come in the Congress without any effort and questioned what qualification Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy have to become the Chief Minister.
The YSR Congress leader, Mr Ambati Rambabu, said the government was afraid of Mr Jagan and that is why the Chief Minister has not given permission to conduct the rytu deeksha in B.R.Stadium in the city. They are feeling that if they give the stadium, Mr Jagan will get political mileage. He reminded that the government had given permission to conduct rythu kosam meeting conducted by the Telugu Desam in B.R.Stadium. He also said that some MLAs attended the rythu deeksha and some more MLAs are extending their support to Mr Jagan from outside.
