Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy appears to be counting his days in power, following the intelligence reports indicating that there would be a major crisis in the government in the next couple of months and there was every possibility that at least 20 Congress MLAs would resign from their seats after the Kadapa by-elections.
Realising that he might not last long in power, the chief minister is said to be clearing important files in the Secretariat at break-neck speed. Several projects concerning road and irrigation schemes are being approved, so that he can make some quick money in the shortest possible time. He has also given a green signal to the transfer of teachers and government officials in the next couple of months, which is a highly money-making job.
Indications are that he might even clear files pertaining to land allotments to various projects in the next few days. After all, Kiran got into the chair only for that purpose!
