Alleging that the Congress government had started persecuting ex-MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, by directing several departments including that of income tax to raid his business interests only after he left their fold, the YSR Congress leader and Jagan’s staunch follower, Mr Ambati Rambabu, stated that they were ready to face it legally and boldly.
He asked why both the Centre and state governments led by the Congress had remained silent when their leader was in the party fold. He said that as Mr Jagan was becoming stronger day-by-day, they intend to target him in several ways in the illusion that he could be tamed. Referring to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, who was ruling the country for the last seven years without getting directly elected by people, he said that such a practice was not good for the world’s largest democratic country.
Speaking to newsmen while on his way to West Godavari near Madhurapudi airport on Wednesday, the YSR Congress leader launched a scathing criticism of the local Congress MP, Mr Vundavalli Arun Kumar, in response to a series of remarks made by him against the YSR Congress and the late CM YSR Reddy’s family members. He said that the Congress leadership was using some leaders including, Mr Vundavalli Arun Kumar, as pawns to target Mr Jagan. He asked Mr Vundavalli to clarify whether the Congress AP affairs in-charge, Mr Gulam Nabi Azad met Eenadu group chairman, Mr Ramoji Rao and sought support to target Jagan with an assurance to sort out cases pertaining to his fraudulent business practices. Maintaining that Mr Vundavalli had become close to YSR Reddy and popular in the state as he had exposed the fraudulent practices adopted by the Eenadu group, Mr Ambati Rambabu advised him to sustain the same commitment and speak facts.
