The CBI teams did not spare even the bathrooms during their raid at the residence of YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as part of their investigations into the alleged illegal assets case against him.
The sleuths of the federal investigating agency thoroughly checked each and every room in the house, took an inventory of all the household items including tables and chairs.
“This is completely unjustified. They have not spared even the handkerchiefs. What kind of behavior is this?” wondered YSR Congress Party leader Shobha Nagi Reddy.
Several YSR Congress Party leaders, including Shoba and Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, allege that the CBI was displaying undue haste in conducting the raids because it sees the possibility of Supreme Court granting stay on the ongoing investigations.
While Jagan’s supporters allege witch-hunting and vindictiveness, the ruling Congress leaders are struggling hard to defend the action, saying the party had nothing to do with the CBI actions.
The YSR Congress Party activists held protest demonstrations at several places and burnt the effigies of Congress and CBI. They gathered in large numbers at Jagan’s residence at Lotus Pond.
