Defying warnings by the Congress high command, the party's MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy continued his controversial Yatra in his native Pulivendula constituency for the second day on Tuesday.
Jagan consoled families of six persons who died either of shock or committed suicide following the death of his father and former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy last September.
The MP unveiled a statue of his father at Kondavaripalli village amidst scores of people who had gathered to greet their leader.
Pulivendula is the family fiefdom of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his widow Vijayalakshmi represents the constituency in the state assembly. It falls under the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency represented by Jagan.
Though he defied the Congress high command by undertaking the yatra in his home constituency, Jagan, however, has refrained from making any political comments so far and limited his tour to consoling the bereaved families.
Since Pulivendula is his family bastion, there was no need for any show of strength for Jagan
