SOFORTIGE FREILASSUNG VON TRAN HUYNH DUY THUC
Tran Huynh Duy Thuc wurde im Mai 2009 festgenommen. Am 20.Januar 2010 wurde er wegen „Versuch des Umsturzes“ nach Art. 79 zu 16 Jahren Haft und anschließenden fünf Jahren Hausarrest verurteilt. Er hatte sich für wirtschaftliche und politische Reformen und Demokratie eingesetzt und friedlich sein Recht auf freie Meinungsäußerung wahrgenommen. Der Schuldspruch gegen Tran Huynh Duy Thuc wurde auch in einem Berufungsverfahren im Mai 2010 aufrechterhalten. Im August 2012 hat die UNWGAD (Arbeitsgruppe der Vereinten Nationen für willkürliche Verhaftungen) seine Verurteilung und Inhaftierung als willkürlich eingestuft.
Amnesty International betrachtet Tran Huynh Duy Thuc als gewaltlosen politischen Gefangenen.
