User files saved on an LC computer

User files saved on a desktop computer, either a Mac or PC, stay on that computer unless the computer gets re-imaged. Re-imaging can happen any time due to troubleshooting or regular maintenance, and that is why every computer's desktop has a warning that user files are deleted regularly. Users are responsible for saving their work on their storage devices or online.

If a user needs to get her/his file from a desktop computer, the user needs to login to the same computer that the file was saved to—a file saved to one computer cannot be retrieved from another computer. The file should be where the user left it. If it is not, the computer could have been re-imaged and the file is gone. Once the file has been deleted, we cannot retrieve it.
