Access Questions from Emory Healthcare Staff

Post date: Apr 04, 2019 8:21:20 PM

The Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library staff shared some clarification regarding how to handle questions we receive in LibAnswers, over the phone, or through email related to Emory Healthcare staff and access to library resources. In LibAnswers, we can transfer all questions from EHC staff or associated clinicians to the Health Sciences queue. Related phone calls received at the Library Service Desk can be transferred to 7-8727.

I've followed up with Health Sciences to confirm where to send emails we receive for their library, and I will let you know what I hear. Currently we have been forwarding them to the medref email on the library hours schedule.

Please see the additional notes below from Health Sciences and let me know if you have any questions:

Most EHC employees who are located at DeKalb facilities do not have access to university library collections or services. Currently, neither EHC administration nor the Woodruff Health Sciences Center expects university libraries to provide library services or resources to staff at the facilities that were formerly the DeKalb Medical System. Questions about services and resources for EHC staff are complex because not all EHC staff have access to Emory library resources and even those EHC staff with access cannot log in to all e-resources that the university has.

Thanks,

David
