Requesting Items in DiscoverE for Emory/Georgia Tech Fulfillment Network

Post date: Aug 30, 2017 8:5:23 PM

#1. When searching for a title in DiscoverE, take notice of the wording at the bottom of each title description. When you see the words "physical resource may be available at other libraries" in gold writing, this is generally an indicator that you are seeing an item that belongs to Georgia Tech.

#2. After you have clicked on your title, it will take you further into your search for this item. Under "Details" you will see the link "Check availability in other institutions." You will then select that link.

#3. After you have selected the "Check availability in other institutions" link, another screen option will appear under the title "Institution." Under the option "Other Institutions" you will see the Georgia Tech link.

#4. Select the Georgia Tech link, and you will be taken back to the page where the title of the book will appear, and under the details tab, you will see a "Register to Georgia Tech Library" link. You will then select that link.

#5. Once you have selected the "Register to Georgia Tech Library" link, a "Request link" will appear, and you will then select that option.

#6. From that link, you will be given the option to select a pick-up institution, as well as a pick-up library. Consult with patron to determine which options are best for them.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your shift Supervisor, or a Staff member for assistance.
