Important update about changes for ECIT and the Electronic Data Center

Post date: Sep 27, 2013 1:25:45 PM

All the personnel and all of the resources that were part of the Electronic Data Center (including GIS, and statistical resources) and ECIT (except for the pieces of ECIT noted below) are now on the 3rd floor in the space previously known as Research Commons. The hours on the 3rd floor are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., M-F. More information about the new Center, ECDS, can be found online at "ecds.emory.edu." For the Service Desk's reference, people now located on the 3rd floor include: Rob O'Reilly, Jennifer Doty, Michael Page, Chase Lovellette, and myself.

For this semester, these ECIT services remain on the 2nd floor :

  • Anyone who needs walk-in help with scanning, Blackboard, Web 2.0 applications, digital audio, digital video, and conferencing, can still go into the "ECIT space" and a graduate student instructional technology specialist will help them

  • The regular hours of the "ECIT space" are 8:30 a.m.- 7 p.m. (M-Th), and 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Fri).

Many of the consultations and meetings that used to happen in ECIT now occur on the 3rd floor. The plan is to have all of the remaining services move out of the 2nd floor space to the ECDS space on the 3rd floor by the beginning of the Spring 2014 semester.
