NEW: Authentication Changing for Licensed Resources

Post date: Jan 05, 2015 4:20:39 PM

On January 12, 2015, the Emory Libraries will implement the same login process in the library for accessing e-books, e-journals, databases and other library licensed content online as is currently used by other Emory resources, such as Compass and HR Self-Service. Authorized Emory University and Healthcare faculty, staff and students will be required to use their netid and password to login only once per session when accessing library licensed content both on and off campus.

This means that we can’t log on alumni or visitors to just any old computer. We will have to log them into computers that have been assigned a specific IP address. These computers will not be asking for database authentication but will be recognized by the IP address. The computers are the two visitor work stations, the two consultation work stations, and the row of 6 computers that are right by the self-check-out machine. If you were to log in a alumni to any other computer, they would not have access to the library’s databases.

If you have questions about this change, please see the supervisor on duty or a LSD staff member.
