Jobs that don't show up at the release stations

If a print job is not appearing* at the release stations or in the Pharos Queued Jobs queue, the issue may be that the patron isn't giving the job adequate time to spool. Large PDFs or image-heavy Word docs can take several minutes or longer to spool to the printer queue. If a patron hops over to the printer before the spooling is through, the job won't show. Worse, if the patron logs off the workstation before the spooling is through, the job won't ever make it to the print queue.

If a job legitimately* isn't appearing at the release stations, have the patron return to the workstation (if still logged in) and open the print queue to see if the job is still spooling (System Preferences --> Print & Fax --> Open Print Queue). If the patron already logged off the computer, have the patron log into a workstation, resend the job, and confirm the job has spooled before heading to the printers (you'll see the printer icon appear in the doc when the spooling begins and disappear when the spooling has ended).

*Remember: If a print job shows up in Pharos but not at the release stations, it suggests the patron isn't entering an ID before swiping an EmoryCard or is entering an incorrect ID. Look up the missing print job by its title in the Pharos Queued Jobs queue and confirm the patron is entering the correct username at the release station. If you cannot find the job at all in Pharos, then look into the spooling issue.
