Supervisors! Good News! WHSCL has started using its own LibAnswers queue!

Post date: Jan 03, 2019 9:48:46 PM

Of course, people are still going to send related questions to our queue. But there’s a new way to handle that! In the future, we will stop transferring health questions to the user named “Health Sciences Center Library, Woodruff.” Instead, we should transfer their questions to their queue, which allows any of their librarians on LibAnswers to pick up the question, just as we do with our queue. It will also eliminate the “we’ve received your email” notices that come in to LibAnswers when we transferred the questions the old way.

So how do we do this? It’s easy! When you get to the “Transfer to” drop-down menu, don’t skip it! Instead, choose the option for “Queue”:

When you select “Queue,” it changes the page a little. The drop-down that asked you which user you want to transfer to becomes “Select the queue to transfer to.” In that menu, choose the “Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library” queue:

You may ignore the drop-down menu below that. All you have to do now is click the “Submit as New” button below. The question will disappear from our queue and appear in theirs. That’s it. You’re done!

Again, the steps are:

1) Open the question (as usual)

2) Choose “Queue” from the Transfer to drop-down

3) Choose Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library from the next drop-down

4) Click Submit as New

Optionally, once these steps are completed, you may wring your hands and cackle with glee at how easy that was. I promise I won’t judge.
