When accepting payment for a fine, or creating or renewing a new user account, please remember to register the payment in Alma. Don’t just record the payment on the Cash Count Sheet. This past week we had several instances of supervisors forgetting to put the transaction in Alma.
1. A fine can be paid by clicking on the “Pay” button next to the patron’s fine.
2. Creating or renewing an account will require you to “add a fine or fee” before registering the payment. First, click on whatever dollar amount shows on their account, then click on the “Add Fine or Fee” button.
Enter the amount of the fee, usually $100 or $75, then “Add and Close”. You can then proceed to pay the amount either in the way described above or, if there are multiple fines and fees, by clicking on the dollar amount first then selecting the fine or fee for which you are receiving payment.
