This isn’t a huge deal, but in the past couple of days, some fiche that had been requested from the LSC were sent back in the original Tyvek envelope sent with them, but unfortunately without the card we use to file them.
This doesn’t happen all that frequently, but I can think of at least 3 or 4 times this has happened in probably the last 6 months or so. And it’s happened a few more times for sure.
Every time it happens, I have to:
· Create an Excel spreadsheet.
· Run an Alma Analytics report and/or do a lot of cutting and pasting into a spreadsheet.
· Open a “Mail Merge” Word file template I use to create the cards.
· Cut the card stock down to size (wasting ¾ of the page if I’m only doing one card).
So, I’m opting for the path of least resistance and most efficiency, which is making a photocopy of the card. LSC Staff are already duplicating the barcode from the card, so slapping it on the adjacent photocopier and printing out a copy that would be included in the envelope sounds like a winner to me.
