Troubleshooting Access

*=Supervisors handle these problems

Access to Databases & Journals

Only current students and employees of Emory with a netID and password can access electronic resources, including databases and e-journals. This includes off campus access. There is NO off campus access for non-Emory users such as alumni or fee borrowers.

*Problems with Access

If users with a current Emory netID and password cannot access an electronic subscription, verify they have used their netID and password elsewhere (email, OPUS, etc) successfully. If they have not, then they need to contact the IT service desk at 404-727-7777 or try resetting their password.

If they have logged in elsewhere with their netID and password successfully, try to replicate the problem by accessing the same resource. If you can get access and they still cannot, determine the best course of action below:

    • If they are an Emory Healthcare, Public Health, or School of Medicine user, have them contact the Health Sciences Library at 404-727-8727 or submit their problem here.

    • If it is a health sciences or medicine database or journal, have them contact the Health Sciences Library at 404-727-8727 or submit their problem here.

    • If it is a database or journal managed by the main libraries, they can fill out the form here describing the problem.

      • You can also email E-RESOURCES-L@listserv.cc.emory.edu. This goes to the same listserv as the form above.

*Sponsored Accounts

Sponsored accounts are given to affiliates who are doing work or research on behalf of an Emory department. These users often need access to Emory databases, journals, or another Emory platform (Blackboard, etc). We DO NOT vet or setup sponsored accounts. These users must be sponsored by an Emory department to get access. More information on how to register can be found here.

**NEVER SIGN IN A USER TO A DATABASE OR JOURNAL WITH YOUR OWN NETID OR PASSWORD**
