If a user wants to connect to an external share/server on a Mac, do the following:
1. Click anywhere on the Desktop
2. In the top menu, click Go
3. Click "Connect to Server" (the last option)
4. In the popup window, type in
smb://whatevertheserveraddressis
or
afp://whatevertheserver address is
NOTE: the user should know the server address and have login and password if their server requires that.
