Alma/System Generated
1. Patron checks out 7 day loan equipment
a. Immediately receives automated email notification loan receipt with due date
2. Patron receives automated “Due Shortly” reminder after 4 days (3 days before due)
3. Patron receives automated “Due Today” email on due date (technically labeled “Overdue Notice”)
4. Patron receives “Return or items will be declared lost” warning 2 days after due date
5. Patron Receives automated “Item Declared Lost” email 3 days after item due date
a. Fine Accrual stops (max $30.00)
Additional/Staff Actions
6. Staff/Graduate Students: Monitor “All MUSME Lost Equipment” widget
7. Email from saved template is sent on day item is declared lost
Each notification sent should be recorded in THIS GOOGLE SHEET
8. OPTION 1: Patron returns items before 7 days
a. Replacement fee is automatically credited and maximum overdue fine is generated ($30.00/non-negotiable except for extenuating circumstances)
9. OPTION 2: Patron does not return item within 7 days
a. Patron cannot return equipment/must pay replacement fee via Opus
b. Kevin reorders equipment monthly (using Losts > 30 Days widget)
