Checking out items on hold...
1. Go to the Loan Tab, .
2. Swipe the patron's Emory Card.
Note: A window should pop up confirming materials are on hold. If this window does NOT come up...
Move to the Patron Tab and check the patron's Hold Requests. The patron's materials may be available at another library. Let the patron know the proper pickup location.
Check the ILL pickups shelves. The patron may have ILL materials on hold. Such materials do not appear in Aleph.
3. Move to the Patron Tab and check the patron's Hold Requests. Items available for pickup will have the status On Hold. Get the call numbers for all the On Hold items with the pickup location of UNIV and use those numbers to retrieve the books from our holds shelves.
4. Return to the Loan Tab and proceed with the checkout.
2 notes about proxies:
Some proxies will request materials using their personal accounts but will want to check out those items using the proxy accounts assigned to them. Before checking the items out to the proxy account, you must first delete the holds from the personal accounts.
Holds placed on behalf of a faculty member (sponsor) will appear on the faculty member's primary account and the associated proxy account, but not on the proxy's own personal account. To find the hold's call number, check either the proxy account or the faculty account. Be sure to then check the item out to the proxy account.
When checking in items, please keep an eye out for holds. Checking in an item on hold will print a hold receipt. Date and initial the top of this receipt, put the receipt in the book, and shelve the book on the holds shelves immediately. Do NOT put the book on the stacks cart.
