If a patron returns a book with damage, please check in the book and forward the book to an LSD staff member who will send it to preservation.
We will then contact the patron on whether there will be a damage fee or replacement fee based on the condition of the book.
If the patron brings in a replacement copy on their own, forward the copy to an LSD staff member who will ask collection management whether we will accept the replacement.
REMEMBER: As a policy, we do not tell patrons they can provide replacement copies. However, if a patron brings one to the desk on their own, we will check to see if we can accept it.
