Hello Library Service Desk Team!!! My name is Lyndon J. Batiste, and I am your new Library Service Desk Coordinator. I am extremely excited to be a part of your wonderful team, and I am beyond ecstatic to be a part of Emory University.

To give you a little background, I come from the Clayton County Public Library System where I have worked for 7 years. I began as a part-time employee, and left as an Assistant Branch Manager for the Riverdale Library. My educational background is in the field of Religious Studies where I earned my bachelors from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, and my Masters from Beulah Heights University also located in Atlanta, GA. I know....I know...I know...some of you may be asking, "What does a Religious Studies degree have to do with Library Science?" Well...The answer is NOTHING!!! (J/K)... For me the answer is EVERYTHING!!! I chose Religious Studies, as my major, because I LOVE to serve people. When I was hired at the Clayton County Public Library System, while in graduate school, I realized that working in the library fulfilled my sincere and earnest desire to serve people. Connecting people to the resources that they need is beautifully similar to the task that a theologian, or a philosopher, undertakes in connecting her/his respective audience to their religious, spiritual, or philosophical destination. Yep...that's what I enjoy doing and being. Whether in a library setting, or other; I enjoy being a bridge. In closing, I have a bit more interesting information about myself, below, that I copied from someone else's profile on this page with a few additions of my own. :)
