The archives give us the names of the village mayors since 1796, but no indication of their meeting location. However, the municipal registers specify that, for example, in 1807, allowances for registry fees and stamp duties, and for "subscription fees for the Bulletin des Lois, wood, light, ink, paper, pens, and cleaning expenses" were allocated to the mayor. It is therefore likely that the municipal council meetings were held in his own home. Later, municipal council meetings and elections were held at the Château de Bosc Fol Enfant (perhaps when its owner, Mr. Jean Armand Alexandre de Montlambert, became mayor in 1815?).
In 1893, the Prefect sent the Mayor a letter requesting the urgent construction of a school for his commune. The municipal council decided on November 26 to add a town hall and accommodation for the teacher. The project seemed feasible on land near the church, but after lengthy negotiations, the current location was ultimately chosen.
The plans drawn up in 1894 by Mr. René Martin, architect, were retained. The specifications provide precise information regarding the construction materials and techniques: sandstone brick for the masonry, second-grade brick for the interior walls, plastered ceilings and interior walls, oak and northern fir timber framing, Angers slate roofing, zinc gutters and downspouts, wrought iron slate fixing hooks, and an interior staircase made of northern fir. The elected officials were committed to building a quality building. The prefect did not approve the project until November 22, 1900.
Final acceptance of the work took place on June 7, 1902.
