Misunderstanding Opening a door

Time and time again, from all walks of life; religious or paranormal researcher I hear advice or thoughts regarding the use of spirit medium tools or activities that, (quote) "open a door". And how this is bad because once a door is "open" it is hard to shut. You don't want to open up yourself to something bad. ie. boards, cards, rods, divination's, franks box, evp, etc., ect. We all hear the horror stories of kids using Ouija boards .

I have a hard time with statements like these because it assumes people know what exactly is going on and how it works.

While I agree that the use of medium tools should not be used casually by the average person/ghost hunter; I think we need to rid ourselves of "catch phrases like this, 'opening of doors". It has been postulated; that dimensions overlap ours. And that the paranormal such as "UFO"/Ultra-terrestrials and spirit realms interact with our dimension in space time via thought energy.

These tools, of themselves are not able to "open anything". They do not emit energy, chemicals, or otherwise to effect the world. Some say that the human brain is a biochemical electromagnetic computer. I think that the use of such tools re-organizes something in the brain that facilitates further interaction with other dimensions or planes of existence. If for nothing else, allows the brain to see more clearly or focus on that which is normally hidden. In a similar way, I think prayer can be have an effect on the brain wiring so to speak. I think this as well as divine intervention can block or open neural pathways in the brain to enhance or shut down the senses.

And for those who follow various faiths, as far as I understand it; Those faiths do not say such interaction is not possible; They state that we/you should not do it.

Why?

Well, I don't have the answer to that. But my guess is that; like many things we don't understand; that which you don't understand can harm you. And if if harms you, and you don't know why or how; How then are you going to fix it. Especially when you are uncertain how to fix it. Trouble will find you well enough without us seeking it. If you must seek the unknown, make sure you seek it with others, be well armed as best as you can. be. I strongly believe in the Spiritualist's view of the afterlife. And I believe most "ghost hunters" are contacting spirits from the lower astral planes. That said, I get the impression that most of them don't know about seeking protection from the higher planes during their investigations. Which, I believe leaves them open to obsession by lower level spirits.
