Persevere Dear Writer

What part of persevere do you NOT understand?

How many times do you have to be told to “Never Give UP!”

According to Writers Digest Kathryn Stockett persevered to the tune of 61 times before she finally found an agent.

This is from the person who wrote "The Help", Dear Writers and Dear Readers. This is that article (see number 7. Quit – 2nd sentence):

If you are truly a writer, you will never give up. Your passion will carry you through, your determination won’t let you quit, your persistence will last a millennia, no amount of someone else saying your aren’t good enough will turn the tide and make you stop, you have the guts and you are going to reach glory come hell or high water.

There are no ifs, ands or buts; there is only writing. Writer for yourself and let the others hang, let the others talk, let the others chide, and make remarks for you are your own person and only you can make you stop and you will NEVER do that.

You are a writer so keep on writing. A quitter gives up and you are no quitter. Every day you will log at least one sentence day or a week or a month but you will write.

Read Jerry Seinfeld’s method is called basically, “don’t break the chain”.

This works for any kind of writer not just joke writers. Try it.

Continue to persevere, Dear Readers and Dear Writers.
