As you see in my blog I reach out everywhere for inspiration from Wall Street Journal, the internet of things, Rolling Stone, books I’m reading, things I’m interested in and a multitude of places, people, publications, and, of course, you, Dear Writers and Dear Readers.
These are some of my favorite inspirations. Understand that in addition to a full time job and writing on my own I have been able to maintain this blog for almost a year with nearly daily updates or at the least every other daily updates.
I do not consider this remarkable; I merely consider this an opportunity to reach out and be heard and seen and further my own agenda in some small way.
For the record my agenda is the promotion of authors, writers, poets, bands that have entertaining and that evoke thinking for I believe that critical thinking is what will propel us into a better future than there would be without it.
It seems that most people are sheep in a flock and just follow shepherds of our society. Some of those shepherds are good and some not so good and that is up to you to decide who you will follow or listen to. Thinking for ourselves may lead us to follow someone or something but at least we have considered all kinds of messages and made up our own mind. This type of critical thinking never goes out of style.
The media hype or publicity promotion or latest political endeavors may lead in many directions and a real fear for society is that someone like a Hitler or some other more modern, media, social savvy person will leads us in a hurtful direction and we must always be mindful and determine which agenda is being promoted by all people before we follow.
Just “a word to the wise is sufficient” was the admonition of my sixth grade teacher, Mr. Smallwood at what is now called Lindsay Elementary School (I don’t remember its name then if someone can inform me than kudos to you, it is in Springfield, Illinois), whom I’m sure has passed on but I will never forget.
If you are an author with a published book or a band with or without a book or an up and coming celebrity and want to garner following or get your message out there then I’d like to interview you and feature you and your book(s) or message on this web site in one of my blogs.
