Brain Food

Hungry? Sometimes you are truly hungry and need to ingest something.

A protein drink.

Sometimes a few chips, or veggies won’t do it. It takes a full meal

Do you have a need to satisfy the urge?

A cookie, a drink of water, just the fact that you have something in your mouth can be all you need. Sometimes.

It has been hours since you’ve eaten. Think about when you are ravenous. A buffet is needed. You are voracious. Can’t get enough.

So when your brain is hungry what do you feed it?

Perusing Facebook is not enough. That is not reading. That is not brain food.

Brain food is that which sustains and gives your brain something to think about. To mull over. That which sparks your muse.

That get your creative juices flowing.

It can be a list of your ideas, rereading a story that you are writing, reading another author that stimulates you.

You are what you read but…

When I was a kid I read: Comics, Reader’s Digest Condensed books, Hans Christian Anderson, Aesop’s Fables, mostly entertaining things but there were deeper meanings hidden in some of those gems. When I was a kid I read on a different level than when I read as an adult.

Be what you read and more.
