Andy Weir is the author of the book “The Martian”

This author highlight is about the author of the book, “The Martian”. The movie of the same name starred Matt Damon. That movie would have been the number 1 science fiction movie of the year if Star Wars had not blown it away.

In an article in the Forbes online, link here:

This demonstrates to any of us that one never knows when a juggernaut, like Star Wars, is coming along that will swamp our little book.

However this should not stop us from writing. That is the fallout from writing and publishing and making something that eventually has a life of its own. Sometimes they thrive and sometimes not so much. The important thing is the accomplishment stands on its own and is incomparable to any other.

The article in Forbes that I read addresses the science behind writing books. I find out that one does not have to be a scientist at all. Just be inquisitive and ask plenty of questions.
