Ayn Rand Number Two
So your creative desires have a need to become real. To become fixed within your mind and on the canvas of your choosing.
So you are a creative person, motivated and wanting to achieve.
Let now your achievements, be distracted by side attractions that have no worth.
Know this about yourself as well; your creative genius has motivations that are pure, not primitive.
You have no desire to extend over the accomplishments of others. But rather to stand beside them and be seen side by side with them.
As Ayn Rand has said,
“A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.”
This tie in, shows how we creatives really are. We do not write to win accolades but we write to have our words heard and seen.
The blue ribbon of achievement is not the banner of red that we charge at but the motivation of the moment is our own pure exaltation and rejoicing in that creation itself and no other.
