Mystic River author Dennis Lehane had problems most of us wish we had. See associated article in the Tallahassee Democrat site:

Mr. Lehane turned down Clint Eastwood’s first offer to buy the movie rights to Mystic River.

In reading the article it turns out that you should stick to your guns and abide by your gut instincts in negotiation and in how you write and all aspects.

After all you have good natural instincts but for heaven’s sake to not overthink it. Feel free to talk with other people about your decisions and ensure they are sound ones. I do this all the time and it does not take away take me away from the decision myself but involves others and lets me listen to their ideas and ensure that the decision I make is one that I am both good and comfortable with and able to live with.

I’d be honored to help you and you may use me to bounce your ideas off of but in the end it is your decision and I will honor it thoroughly.

If you are an author with a published book I’d like to interview you and feature you and your book(s) on this web site in one of my blogs.

I would love to help you, Dear Writers; at the same time you will be helping me be a better coach and editor.

(I used to live in Iowa and feel like that is my home state regardless of where I was born and where I now live.)

Feeling a kinship with others gives us emotional ties and a relation that goes beyond just being human beings together on the planet Earth.

I was just reading her blogspot and felt the connection of her with the children that gather to listen to her read. Close your eyes and remember your mom or dad or grandmother or another relative reading to you, you sitting there all warm on their lap and your eyes bright with the pictures and your mind and ears hearing the word cadence of their voice. You not only heard their voice but felt it in your body through that contact.

Wonderful times for me as a listener when a child and as a reader when a father with one of my children and now grandchildren on my lap and the love and connection we feel. Beautiful and wonderful.

Read to your lovely children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. It will make theirs and your day.
