Napoleon Hill has an important lesson to share with us

Napoleon Hill was born in 1883 in southwest Virginia. This near a poor Appalachian community named Pound. In his life he was able to interview Andrew Carnegie one of the most famous and successful men at that time and went on to interview many millionaires and influential people at that time. From their ear; he heard, wrote and developed one of the earliest personal success literature. (This is paraphrased from Wikipedia.)

Some of his sayings include two which I will post here:

"Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another." Napoleon Hill

Let’s dissect this and rephrase it so it is immediately accessible; think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of YOU. I have found that anything that you say to yourself is more powerful than what anyone else says; therefore tell yourself only good things that are supportive and encouraging. Never be detrimental to yourself (plenty of others will do that for you).

Napoleon Hill wrote the bestseller (20 million copies) Think and Grow Rich in 1937.

"You can be anything you want to be, if only you believe with sufficient conviction and act in accordance with your faith; for whatever the mind can conceive and believe[;] the mind can achieve." Napoleon Hill

The above saying stands on its own and reinforces the concept above that you will believe what your mind conceives and believes; therefore think good things, be positive, be confident and believe in yourself.

These are extremely powerful sentences and one should write them down in a place one will see every day. I place my notes worth reviewing everyday on my bathroom mirror to encourage rereading and remembering. What we do is not a singular act. It is made up of a thousand actions a day. Drive, drive, drive to your goals with each act.
