Write out loud
Perhaps the best advice I was ever given was to read what I wrote out loud. This concept lets you not only see what you are writing but to hear it and ensure that it has qualities about it so that it stands out. Hear where you take a breath, this may mean a comma or a semi-colon goes there. Does it make sense; this will improve your grammar. Listening to yourself helps you not to visually auto-correct what you have written which I have done many times and not see the mistakes.
Always use spell check, which may also help with some grammatical errors but reading out loud, is by far and away the very best writing help and tip.
