Return of the Western
My Dad and I grew up on John Wayne and Glenn Ford and many westerns. It was a staple at the movies then came to television.
I loved watching them, Johnny Yuma-The Rebel, Paladin-Have gun will travel, Marshall Dillion-Gunsmoke, and many more. I also watched Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone and had a coon skin cap and I played with toy guns all of the time. (That is highly frowned upon now and not politically correct and the police may be called upon to take care of you if you do. Students are suspended for bringing GI Joe weapons to school and we know how tiny they are and it is ridiculous but the price we pay for our societal norms.)
Then they kind of died off for a while then Silverado came to the screen and it was fantastic, then later Dances with Wolves and Last of the Mohicans.
Loved that era and now there are two movies featured in the Friday, November 27th Newsweek, The Revenant and The Hateful Eight, both are called westerns and I am salivating.
I’ve also loved Predator, Terminator, Alien and that genre of movies as well, but that is a different story all together.
