Good morning! This is coming out early and will be on the short side since the school signed me and several other Carver math teachers up for Mathspace training this afternoon. Mathspace is the new program that will be taking the place of the ALEKS system we've been using the past decade. We already have access to the system and so far the kids are saying they like it a lot more than ALEKS, especially as some sections of the program also have an AI tutor that can work with them when they're stuck and working independently.
This week we've continued with our SOL review, reviewing the entire measurement and geometry strand: surface area and volume of rectangular prisms and cylinders, similar figures, quadrilaterals, and dilations. We'll be continuing our SOL review all of the next right up to the SOL test, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th.
