Howdy, folks! I'm late getting this out again since I'm still fighting a cold that has been paired with an on-going tension headache, so I plan to keep this pretty short as well. We continued working on relations and functions last week, delving into the topics of slope and y-intercept along with graphing. We also worked on using function tables to determine the rule of a given function, figuring out how to find the slope from the table and then using a point to find the y-intercept. On top of the regular formative assignments given, the kids were also given a few extra (optional) review assignments they could have worked on over the weekend to review for today's quiz and this week's cumulative algebra test. I'm setting up some Khan Academy review for this week's assignments to help with the review of the test as well.
We're quickly approaching the end of term (Friday, January 25th), so please encourage students to take advantage of any final opportunities they have to pull up their term and semester grades. The last day I will be taking late work will be on Tuesday, January 22nd (after the 3-day weekend); no late work will be taken after that point. I'll be wrapping up grades for the term with this week's test while all grades for next week will go onto the third quarter to allow for any make-up time.
That should cover everything but as always, feel free to email if you have any questions. I hope everyone has a great week!
