Good afternoon! I'm sure the kids have mentioned how hot it's been in the building this week (Monday was a true struggle!), so I'm trying to get this out and get all my usual Friday tasks done early so I don't have to stay after when the AC is turned off completely for the evening/weekend. The week has been devoted to continuing our SOL review as previously mentioned. We've now gone through four packets, two for the number sense strand and two for the computation and estimation strand.
The kids are getting a grade for their completed packets, but they will be combined at the end of the review session and thus will not be entered early unless a student completes all of them early. Instead, I'm keeping track of their completed packets the "old school way," checking them off on the class list for each one. As an added incentive (a.k.a. bribe) to complete the packets and keep up with them the whole month, the kids will also get candy for each completed packet and one additional piece at the end if they keep all the packets for the whole time. The pages we're completing each day can again be found in this document as well as the daily agenda for April and May.
