It's been a busy weekend for me and I still have a load of things to do, so I'll be keeping this pretty short this week. The 7H students wrapped up their work with the Pythagorean theorem, taking the quiz on Friday with awesome results! This unit will be combined with the upcoming unit (angle relationships) for the first test of the term. Since the kids took to this topic so quickly and easily, I was able to help those who were still struggling to catch up on our recent coding work. Some still have a little bit to go, but those still needing to complete work have a better understanding and are on track for finishing. There are a few students who were pulled from our Period 1/2 class this week for various reasons (other testing, field trips, core values), so they've got a little more wiggle room with the due dates for the work from Unit 15.
The MSM2 students covered both the Pythagorean theorem and angle relationships this past week, both of which are Math 8 topics. Since they were shortened units, we took the "quizzes" together for additional practice with the concepts but on our online assessment system. We'll use the skills learned from these units to help understand the topics we'll be covering this week with quadrilaterals, which is a tested Math 7 SOL.
Well, I'm going to wrap things up here since I still have plans to wrap up as well as chores to finish up here at home. I know this is a bit shorter than usual, so if folks have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to email or message.
