My name is Kim Lambert and I'm in my 21st year of teaching, predominately in Chesterfield County Public Schools, though I taught one year in PGCPS at N.B. Clements Junior High. I've taught most of the middle school math courses provided in my previous postings in CCPS, from Math 6/MSMI up to Algebra I. I have also taught one year as the Title I math interventionist at Enon Elementary, helping students build the math skills that they will need to be successful as they move along. The year in elementary helped me build a better understanding of students' math education prior to moving up to middle school, which allows me to better bridge gaps that might have developed up to this point.
From attending school in Chesterfield, I went on to attend Brightpoint Community College (John Tyler CC at the time) to earn my Associate's degree and to take care of my general education requirements before moving onto Longwood University for my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Special Education, receiving my teaching license in NK-6 with added endorsements in 6-8 math and social studies.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes four nieces, two nephews, and a great niece. I adore spending time just being "Aunt Kimmie" and spoiling them as much as possible! Also, as the students will be able to testify after even just a short time in my class, I'm a proud nerd/geek; I love working with computers (I used to run one of my school's website and I'm usually one of the tech go-to's for other teachers and students) and follow many of the nerdy fandoms out there (the kids will likely find character names pop up in word problems just because). I enjoy expressing myself through a few artistic fields: crocheting, Cricut crafting, photography, and sometimes trying out little projects I find online. Any other free time I have is usually spent watching my favorite movies/shows, reading whatever has captured my attention at the moment, or out hiking some of the local trails.
