I hope this message finds everyone well rested after hopefully being able to spend time with your family. I'm sure the kids are feeling the "Sunday night blues" in anticipation of returning to school after the break, but we'll only be back for three weeks before we're off again for winter break! I'll be keeping this on the short side since it was only a two-day week last week.... and I'm feeling a little reluctant to let go of the break as well.
The 7H students spent their days reviewing one-step inequalities. While this is a fairly simple topic for them since it was covered last year, but there are a few "twists" that add in complications. The first being the requirement that the solutions be graphed, simple enough but can sometimes be a little confusing based on what side of the inequality symbol the variable lies. The second is the rule that when multiplying or dividing by a negative, the inequality symbol flips. We'll be continuing this at the beginning of this upcoming week. The MSM2 students got started on two-step equation and have taken to those fairly well considering they've only ever worked with one-step equations before. The true challenge will be when we throw in multi-step inequalities this upcoming week, but we'll start slow by reviewing two-step equations.
That's it! I'm going to wrapping up a bit of the paperwork side of my job before trying to steal a few more hours of break before we return tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great week!
