Greetings all! It's been a busy week of wrapping up the last regular units of the year before we launch into SOL review mode next week. The 7H students wrapped up their work on relations and functions before taking the unit test. They did an awesome, though a few students still need to finish it and will be given time on Monday. The MSM2 students worked on data analysis, being introduced to histograms and scatterplots. They took the quiz on Thursday and the results were mixed, the primary struggle seeming to be remembering and applying learning from previous years, primarily the measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode, plus range) and confusing which is which, so I'll include a bit more review of these topics as we being our SOL review this week. There are still a few students who need to finish the quiz as well as a few who will be finishing their ARDT post-test on Monday.
We'll be fully launching ourselves into SOL review mode this week. The school supply list for this year included a folder to be turned into math classes which we will now be using for our SOL review materials; most students turned one in that first week, but there are a few who did not have one at the time as well as those who transferred in later. I've included a listing in the gradebook indicating who has and has not turned one in; it's not for a grade, just an easy way to determine if a folder is still needed. The folder does not need to be new and can even be an old binder, but it will need to be dedicated to math SOL review items since I'll occasionally be collecting it for grading each portion during the coming weeks.
