Howdy! I'm typing this while covering one of the art classes, so this will be a super quick update (for real! yes, I know I've said that before and then proceeded to type a dissertation, but this will legit be a short update). We spent the week continuing with our SOL review, wrapping up our with the numbers and number sense section, moving through the short computation and estimation section, and beginning our measurement and geometry review. We'll take the quiz for that on Monday and continue our review when possible.
I say "when possible" since SOL testing will be starting (the first one being reading for in-person students on 5/19) and there will be days with altered schedules due to the testing. For example, testing is taking place on Wednesday (5/19) during 1st period and through what would be 2nd period, so those two classes will not be held as normal but work will instead be asynchronous. I'd planned for us to do the 4th SOL practice quiz (SOL 8.11-8.13) that day, so I'm just asking students complete that as soon as they get a chance and it will not be marked as missing until the following afternoon. That being said, all of the quizzes have been "turned on" so if kids want to try their first attempt early, that is more than OK with me. Anything that gets them practicing and studying for math makes me happy!
Well that should pretty much cover it and this crew of art students needs to start cleaning up for the final dismissal, so I'm going to wrap things up here. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
