Hello all! Another term down and just one more to go! I'm really proud of how over half the kids took advantage of the final chance to pull their final term grade up with extra credit, corrections to assessments, and turning in missing incomplete work. I'd like to encourage every student to stay on top of their work and grades for this final term so they can finish the year strong!
This past week the 7H students started the week with a test on the final units of the third term. They followed up with the 8th county assessment of the year. Though we didn't officially end the term until the end of the week, these grades will go onto the final term in order to allow students to complete corrections or even retake the assessments if they chose to spend their Liberty Points to do so. We closed out the week with an introduction to our final Math 8 unit of the year, relations and functions. We'll wrap up the unit this week, though we'll revisit later after SOL testing when we work on the final unit of the year, slopes and intercepts, a high school level Algebra I topic.
The MSM2 students wrapped up their work with probability. Since a good bit of the work was completed when I was out sick the previous week, the quiz was completed as a "classwork" quiz and the students used the work paper for it as part of their study guide (adding extra notes as we went along) for the test which wrapped up the week. With Friday being a half day and a few students out for an orchestra field trip, a handful of students still haven't finished the test and will need to complete it when they get to class tomorrow. Once that's all wrapped up, we'll get to work on our final unit of the year, data analysis, before we get into SOL review mode.
Before closing things out for the week, I'd like to make (hopefully) a final request for supplies. We have completely run out of pencils and notebook paper again and we could use a bit of graphing paper as well. If anyone out there is willing and able to send in any of these things, it would be greatly appreciated!
