Well, we've got snow and who knows how many snow days ahead of us. I'm working on changing up plans, but until we know exactly when we'll return, I don't have any definite dates. The 7H students were going to work on polynomials this upcoming week, but with the missed days and the fact that this is actually an Algebra I high school level topic, we'll now be covering it after the SOL test. The MSM2 students will still take the previously planned test as soon as we return (so make sure you're studying!), though the grade for that has already been switched over to third term. In the meantime, all students have the extra credit opportunity on TenMarks.com (username and password found in their Google Drive math folder) they can be working on while we're out. I've started making a few tentative updates to the class calendars, but until we know exactly when we'll return, it's still somewhat speculation.
The 7H students continued working on their coding PBL throughout the previous week. Some students are actually ahead of schedule, but for those who are a bit behind, use the extra days to catch up with the rest of the class. At this point we've made it through Stage 14, all puzzles; if students have questions, they should contact me with the stage and problem they are working on so I can properly assist them. The MSM2 students took the most recent county assessment on Tuesday; while error analysis (corrections) are no longer an automatic privilege, students can chose to spend their points for a chance to complete corrections. The rest of the week was spent preparing for the upcoming test, which as noted above, will take place whenever we return.
I'm going to end things here as I'm plain tired from trying to dig my way out of my front door this afternoon! I hope everyone is enjoying the snow, but please stay safe and warm!
