Greetings, folks! I hope everyone is keeping warm over this chilly weekend. I'm feeling a little under the weather, so I'll be keeping this update super short. I know I've already said that in previous updates this year but still had plenty to "say" and my old blog (where I used to post these updates) show I've always been a bit wordy, but the busy pace of this school year along with my additional duties outside of my regular teaching duties have finally caught up and I need a little more of a low-key weekend to recharge. As always, if you have questions after, please feel free to email/message me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
The Math 7H kids started working on negative exponents and powers of ten (both touched on earlier this year when we covered exponents) along with scientific notation (which they covered a bit last year), so this was mostly a review week leading up to throwing all three topics into the mix when comparing and ordering these numbers along with fractions, decimals, and percents. The MSM2 students worked on evaluating expressions, something they've covered in the past but as with everything is made a bit more complicated (see last week's WCS for further details as it was covered by the 7H students last week).
We're nearing the end of the term and kids are reminded to take advantage of every opportunity to bring their grades up, especially with completing Error Analysis for assessments. They can also get extra help on math or technology during times listed on the Before/After School Tutoring & Tech Help calendar.
As promised, I'm keeping this short, so I'm going to end this here. Again, feel free to email/message me if you have any questions. Hope everyone has a great week!
