Greetings! I hope everyone has been safe and warm over this past week! Hopefully everyone was lucky enough to keep their power this go-round as well. We only ended up having two regular school days, but we accomplished a lot over those two days. The kids have been doing a great job on the current topic, so hopefully the breaks we're getting between due to the weather won't throw them off too much, but we'll do a little review first thing each block on Monday before getting into the next part of the unit (tax, tip, discount, and markup are on deck!).
Today was a fully async day, so no new graded work was assigned. I did however have a "snow day" assignment ready for this possibility, which I published Thursday night on Canvas. While it was meant to be today's assignment, I'll still take the work anytime this term for extra Lambie Points. Students were also encouraged to use the day to catch up on the already assigned work for this term, both graded (all listed on ParentVUE/StudentVUE) and/or the extra practice assignments. I was very happy to see how many kids used the day to not only catch up on old and current assignments, but several even got ahead and knocked out some of the graded assignments that have now been pushed to next week.
Along with catching up on assignments as well the "snow day math challenge," I also encouraged to take advantage of the chance to retake either of the quizzes we've done this term (this will be listed as the second attempt on Canvas) and/or complete quiz corrections. I'd like to request that parents and guardians encourage their kids to take advantage of these opportunities.
Well, I'm going to wrap this up now but as always, please feel free to email with any questions. I hope you all have an amazing weekend... and that we've now seen the end of the winter weather! "See" you all again next week!
